KUALA LUMPUR: WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA), a subsidiary of Warisan TC Holdings Bhd, has officially expanded the 2024 GAC GS3 EMZOOM line-up in Malaysia with two new locally-assembled variants.

The range-topping 2024 GAC GS3 EMZOOM Premium R is now joined by the GS3 EMZOOM Standard and GS3 EMZOOM Exclusive, bringing WTCA’s localisation project of the B-segment SUV to completion following its initial introduction as a CBU model in Malaysia back in April 2024.

The updated 2024 GAC GS3 EMZOOM line-up offers a competitive range of features across the board, with all three variants powered by GAC’s 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine that develops a maximum of 177PS at 5,500rpm and best-in-class 270Nm of torque, available from 1,400rpm to 4,500rpm. This output is delivered to the front wheels via a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (7WDCT), enabling a swift 0-100km/h acceleration time of 8.0 seconds. The performance is matched by fuel economy that meets Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) standards with an average consumption of only 5.9 litres per 100km.

All GAC GS3 EMZOOM models feature the same bold exterior defined by the Mecha Wing grille, Laser Eye Split LED headlights and electric hidden door handles that lend a futuristic and aerodynamic aesthetic to the side profile. The dynamic front end is matched in the rear by Light Dart tail lights and a sporty Rear Spoiler while 18-inch alloy wheels complete the look across all three variants. Visually, the GS3 Premium R differentiates itself from the Standard and Exclusive variants with its R-Style Sport Package and R-Style Exhaust.

The contemporary blue-and-black interior colour scheme is applied to the cabin of all variants, which offer segment-leading space and comfort thanks to the GS3 EMZOOM’s longest-in-class 2,650-mm wheelbase. All variants are equipped with GAC’s signature crystal electronic gear shift and multifunction steering wheel with four-way tilt and telescopic adjustment.

On the technology front, advanced features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android phone mirroring, electronic parking brake with auto hold and Blind Spot Vision (BSV) are standard throughout the range. Exclusive to the GS3 EMZOOM Premium R is the added luxury of automatic headlight, High Beam Assist, Fusion Automatic Parking Assist, six-way power adjustment for the driver seat, multi-colour ambient lighting, wireless smartphone charger, hands-free power tailgate and a panoramic sunroof.

In its latest efforts to further endear the GAC brand to Malaysian customers following the positive start it has enjoyed with the GAC GS3 EMZOOM, WTCA has appointed multi-talented Malaysian radio and TV personality Jack Lim as the Official Brand Ambassador of GAC Malaysia. Lim was selected based on how well his achievements and personality resonate with the GAC brand slogan: “Where Craft Meets Technology”.

A household name in the Malaysian entertainment industry, Lim is the anchor DJ for MYFM 101.8FM, Malaysia’s leading Chinese language radio station. He is an accomplished artist and producer known for a wide range of acting and hosting roles which align with GAC brand values such as trust and quality. His prominence among the Malaysian community makes him a leading candidate to guide the GAC brand to a position of market leadership that it currently occupies in its home market in China.

Prices for the 2024 GAC GS3 EMZOOM CKD now start at RM1XX,XXX for the GS3 EMZOOM Standard. The GS3 EMZOOM Exclusive retails for RM116,800 while the range-topping GS3 EMZOOM Premium R continues to be available at a competitive price of RM126,800. All prices are on-the-road without insurance, applicable to West Malaysia only.

In terms of colour availability, the GAC GS3 EMZOOM Standard is offered in Frost White and Asphalt Black options. The GAC GS3 EMZOOM Exclusive offers two additional choices, namely Salt Lake Blue and Superstar Silver. All of these colours are available for the GS3 EMZOOM Premium R, which features an exclusive Graphite Grey colour, in addition to the sporty orange exterior trim which is limited to this range-topping variant. Asphalt Black and Graphite Grey are exclusive to the locally-assembled GAC GS3 EMZOOM — these colours are currently not offered anywhere else outside the Malaysian market.

To commemorate the success of its first GAC CKD project, WTCA has launched the Rev Up with EMZOOM campaign that lasts until 31 December 2024.
